  13. Madhouse is a modular screen saver like others. We tried to make the
  14. main program (the 'server') more configurable and to program nice
  15. blankers - here is the result, we hope you like it!
  16.  
  17. Main changes version 2.1 to 2.5:
  18. - Better support for graphics cards. (More Screenmode options)
  19. - Bugs fixed (now, we have some betatesters...)
  20.   Enforcer / Mungwall tested.
  21. - Sound player facility extended: every player, which supports ARexx,
  22.   can be used. Some presets included (Eagleplayer, Delitracker, Hippo-
  23.   Player, DAS-Modplayer, Powerplayer). Madhouse is able to start the
  24.   sound player on its own.
  25. - completely rewritten Fireworks.
  26. - Hotkeys for blanking/dimming.
  27. - Blankers can be aborted by _just_moving_ the mouse.
  28. - The look & feel of MadhouseConfigEd was improved in many ways...
  29.   (Bubblehelp, too!)
  30. - The documentation was corrected by a native speaker, for better
  31.   spelling...

  33. Main advantages of Madhouse 2.5
  34. - Unlike all other modular screen savers I know, Madhouse can configure
  35.   and start Garshne-, Blitz- and Swazmodules.
  36. - A lot of nice blankers included.
  37. - A dimmer (AGA, Gfx cards possible!) included, to dim the frontmost
  38.   screen before blanking. It dims not only to grey, but to a user
  39.   selected color!
  40. - Intelligent Random function: remembers how often a blanker was shown
  41.   already, and selects one that wasn't shown that often. It is possible
  42.   to select the blank priority of a blanker, so Stars will appear 2 x,
  43.   while Shuffle appears one time.
  44. - `Immediate corners' can be defined on the screen, for immediate dimming/
  45.   blanking if the mouse pointer is on them.
  46. - Madhouse has a seperate configuration program (MadhouseConfigEd), so
  47.   Madhouse itself needs no graphical user interface and is rather small.
  48.   MadhouseConfigEd uses MUI.
  49. - CPU sensitive. If your computer is doing a complex calculation (e.g.
  50.   compiling or raytracing), Madhouse runs no blanker at all or a blanker
  51.   that uses nearly no CPU performance.
  52. - Install (+Update) and Remove Commodore Installer script.
  53. - There are other features (like password, exchange blankers...), too...
  54. - a comprehensive documentation, explaining every detail of Madhouse,
  55.   ConfigEd and the blankers.
  56. - very low shareware fee of 15 US-$.

  63. Madhouse ist ein modularer Screenblanker. Wir wollten ein Hauptprogramm
  64. mit vielen Einstellungsmöglichkeiten und gute Blanker schreiben, hier
  65. ist das Resultat...
  66.  
  67. Wichtigste Änderungen von Madhouse 2.1 zu 2.5:
  68. - Bessere Unterstützung von Grafikkarten (mehr Schirmmodus-Optionen).
  69. - Einige Bugs entfernt, dank der Betatester, die sich auch drum
  70.   kümmern...    mit Enforcer / Mungwall getestet.
  71. - Die Soundplayer-Möglichkeiten wurden erweitert. Jeder Modplayer mit
  72.   ARexx-Port kann nun angesprochen werden. Voreinstellungen für
  73.   Eagleplayer, Delitracker, Hippoplayer, DAS-Modplayer und Powerplayer
  74.   vorhanden. Madhouse kann jetzt auch den Soundplayer selbst starten.
  75. - Völlig neues Fireworks.
  76. - Hotkeys für's Blanken / Dimmen.
  77. - Jetzt können die Blanker auch abgebrochen werden, wenn man die Maus
  78.   nur bewegt.

  82. Das ist das Besondere an Madhouse:
  83. - Im Gegensatz zu allen mod. Schirmschonern, die ich kenne, kann
  84.   Madhouse auch Garshne-, Blitz- und Swazmodule starten und konfi-
  85.   gurieren.
  86. - Es sind viele nette Blanker dabei.
  87. - Ein Dimmer (AGA- und Grafikkartentauglich), der den vordersten
  88.   Screen dimmt, und zwar zu einer benutzerdefinierten Farbe, nicht
  89.   nur Grau.
  90. - Intelligente Zufallsfunktion: die merkt sich, wie oft ein Blanker schon
  91.   gezeigt wurde, und wählt einen aus, der noch nicht so oft zu sehen
  92.   war. Außerdem ist es möglich, eine Blankpriorität zu vergeben: dann
  93.   kommt Stars doppelt so oft wie Shuffle...
  94. - Bildschirmecken zum sofortigen Start von Blankern oder dem Dimmer
  95.   sind einstellbar. Sie reagieren, wenn man den Mauspfeil hineinschiebt.
  96. - Madhouse hat ein separates Konfigurationsprogramm "MadhouseConfigEd",
  97.   das MUI benutzt. So braucht Madhouse keine Oberfläche und ist deshalb
  98.   recht klein.
  99. - CPU sensitiv. Wenn Euer Computer etwas berechnet (z.B. ein Raytracing-
  100.   Bild oder er compiliert gerade), startet Madhouse nur einen Blanker,
  101.   der die CPU kaum benötigt oder zeigt nur einen schwarzen Schirm.
  102. - Installations-/Update- (Install-) und Entfernungs- (Remove-) Script
  103.   für den Commodore Installer.
  104. - diverse andere Features, z.B. Paßwort und "Blanker wechseln".
  105. - eine ausführliche Anleitung, die jedes Detail erläutert.
  106. - ein madhouse.catalog, damit auch die Bildschirmtexte ab OS 2.1 auf
  107.   deutsch erscheinen.
  108. - sehr niedrige Shareware-Gebühr von DM 20.
